Growing up in rural Nova Scotia, I was aware of our small economy and higher rates of unemployment from a young age. I knew early on that I wanted to do work that would contribute to the local economy and help companies and employees be more successful.
Like many young Nova Scotians, I moved to western Canada after graduation. An early opportunity with a west coast management consulting firm allowed me to work on market research projects that were stimulating, gave me a sense of purpose and helped me hone my writing skills and ability to think strategically. I knew then that I would one day put self-employment and consulting together.
As time went on, I focused on selecting employment options that would allow me to gain hands-on experience that would help me be a better consultant. I have worked for some excellent companies that challenged me to stretch myself and offered great opportunities to learn and grow. They ranged from Fortune 500 companies to start-up small businesses; from transportation and financial services to working as a consultant for larger organizations.
I offer professional human resource, business communication and career transition services. I'm am fulfilled by work that contributes to the growth of local companies, strengthens our economy and provides meaningful and positive work environments for people.
