From my base in Halifax, I specialize in human resources and change management for small to medium sized companies, municipal and First Nations governments, not-for-profits and membership-based organisations. From manufacturing and transportation to hospitality and early education, I have worked in management, operations, and consulting roles ranging from privately held start ups to publicly traded, regulated utilities.

consultative research and Planning

Assisted a community organization to prioritize capital investment decisions through an on-line survey.

Conducted a review of an advisory council and made recommendations for organizational and policy improvements.

Implemented employee surveys including analysis and recommendations.


Business proposals and funding applications

Wrote a successful funding proposal for employment readiness and industry training for a First Nation.  

Developed expression of interest and grant application and proposal resulting in the third largest award provincially for a group of five not-for-profit organizations.

 


OPERATIONAL PERFORMANCE REVIEW

Conducted an HR operational review for a public sector employer including consultation with executive team members, stakeholder organizations, HR staff and employee focus groups.  

Developed an HR strategy including prioritization of HR initiatives, organization design and department budget.


Talent Management

Designed the business planning processes for a regulated professional services society to achieve the Executive Director's goal of improving senior management performance measurement, operational outcomes and senior management engagement.  

Conducted salary surveys, designed recruitment and retention strategies, wrote policies and procedures, developed succession plans and training programs.


change management

Supported the dissolution of a 115 employee crown corporation, the reintegration of staff into government agencies and supported displaced employees in their transition to new opportunities.  

Provided strategic and operational HR guidance to the management of a newly acquired transportation company.
